The Butler County Humane Society is the only shelter in Butler County. We welcome and care for all stray cats
and dogs brought into our facility and all are given humane treatment and care.  In January 1996, a capital campaign was started so that the Humane Society could open a new shelter off of Evans City Road (current location) in Connoquenessing Township from its old location off Herman Road. The doors opened on March 23, 1998 marking the start of a new era for the Butler County Humane Society.

In 2000, the Butler County Humane Society became a no-kill shelter and in October 2003, the Helen Spaide Albig
Adoption Center opened after a generous donation from Helen herself taking us to where we are today.  Current day, we have reached a point where necessary repairs and renovations are needed in order to extend the life of our shelter and to achieve our mission but we need YOUR help. This year we celebrate 20 years of life-saving care for homeless pets at our Evans City Road location. To celebrate what we have accomplished and to kick off another 20+ years, we are looking to undertake 20 projects to help revitalize our little building that does so much.

We are seeking individuals and businesses who can help us financially and physically to ensure we can continue to care for
our dogs and cats in the best possible environment. If you or someone you know can help with all or part of one or more of
these projects financially or physically, please contact Jennifer DiCuccio at 724-789-1150 or jdicuccio@butlercountyhs.org.

Ceramic Tribute Tiles
Tiles imprinted with a beloved pet’s photo and name are permanently installed on the interior walls of our shelter and serve as an ever-lasting tribute to the love and bond between animals and owners in Butler County. Thousands of visitors each year will see these
furry faces decorating our walls.

Ceramic tiles are available in 3 sizes, 8 x 8 for $1000, 6 x 6 for $750, and 4 x 4 for $500.

These tiles will be installed throughout the building on display to the public. The tile can be inscribed with your pet’s name (first and last if desired) only. An Alternative To The Usual Birthday Or Anniversary Gift! Is someone’s birthday around the corner? Stumped by what gift to give to honor an anniversary?  No matter the occasion, it’s always a great time to contribute something personal and permanent to our shelter by purchasing a tile of your pet’s picture. And when you do, your love for the animals and your help in ensuring a future for the less fortunate, will be written on our walls and walks, and in our hearts!

If you would like to purchase a CERAMIC TILE please send an email to jdicuccio@butlercountyhs.org or call 724-789-1150 for more info!
